Bodi Buzz is focused on putting an end to health disparities in underserved communities. It is well known that America is dealing with a nutrition crisis as underserved communities are the largest group dealing with poor diets and health concerns such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease and obesity; each bringing in over ~400Billion yearly from health and medical needs, medicines/supplements, and research. While some communities have access to fitness and nutrition resources, many do not have such luxuries and actually live in fitness and food deserts. An imbalance of resources has resulted in a disproportionately high rate of chronic diseases in our communities along with many other life threatening diseases and disorders.

Educators are Innovators

Nutrition policies in underserved communities do not go beyond the simple actions of providing food assistance or enticing grocery stores to build in food desert areas. When it comes to fitness areas, we see even less. Researchers have found that when the above are addressed, there are still high rates of processed junk food consumption along with obesity in these communities simply due to no nutrition education and no recourses available assisting with healthy food options. Nutrition health education is an important factor that has been ignored within these communities, yet accessible outside of them. Without proper nutritional education in place, our communities will not know how to choose healthy food options or understand the importance of healthy eating for the body and its impact on the environment.

These communities need recourses and knowledge on purchasing healthy food and what a balanced diet looks like. This is where we step in and help by bringing nutrition back to the table.. Aside from poor nutrition destroying large communities, Earths health is also very important to us. Due to an exploitation of natural recourses and poor stewardship of the environment, Earth has been declining in health. We are developing programs that incorporate nutrition with the importance of sustaining our environment for a better future. Check out our #seeds4youth page for more information.
